Paulina Pinsky will jump into the splits if there is a group photo being taken.

She’s always known that she was flexible, seeing as she started figure skating at the age of five. Born and raised in Pasadena, California, Paulina spent the majority of her childhood in an ice rink.

Paulina graduated high school and moved to New York City, where she attended Barnard College. She received her B.A. in American Studies with a concentration in Media and Popular Culture and wrote her undergraduate thesis on Joan Rivers. While there, she spent the majority of her time playing Beer Pong at rugby parties, performing bit parts in musical theater productions, and writing sketch comedy— I mean, she studied. She studied very, very hard.

After graduating in 2015, Paulina moved to Chicago to study improvisational and sketch comedy at The Second City. But NYC sang her siren song, and Paulina couldn’t help but move back to New York, where she pursued her MFA in Nonfiction Creative Writing at Columbia University. Despite the degree, she likes to believe she still has a sense of humor. After a decade in the Big Apple, she has found her way home: she is quite literally living with her parents right now.

Paulina teaches Comedy Writing to high schoolers at Columbia University. She is a freelance writing coach, and offers guidance in groups through Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way. She is working on a novella and a memoir, and she lives in Pasadena, California.
